Paula Patton
Hi, I'm Paula Patton. I live in the rolling hills of southern Indiana.  A born Hoosier, my hometown is Salem, Indiana but was raised and currently live in Bloomington, IN.  I have been making things as long as I can remember, setting up tables in the basement with my Grandma, working on paper mache maracas, painting clay pots,  making bottle cap artwork or crocheting.  It didn't matter what I was doing as long as it was with her, we could do anything!  She was a great inspiration!

I discovered pottery in 2007 at a small studio in the Union Building at Indiana University. Soon after my second class, they decided to close that studio after 53 years!   I had a fabulous instructor, Amanda Weigl and we decided to open a small studio on our own in May of 2008.  We also opened a home decor shop, The Walnut Street Sampler for all things handmade in November 2008.  We had 44 local artists on board and sold things like wall art, pottery, furniture and cards, lamps, soaps and lotions and even had locally roasted coffee.  With the studio on site, we could offer all kinds of pottery, functional and non, custom sets of dishes and specialized gifts. We have since closed that part our life but we sure had a great time and had super wonderful people who kept it all going - Thanks!

My partner and I own and operate a small window treatment business, Discount Blinds & Verticals, Inc. in Bloomington, Indiana.  We travel to the home or office to show and sell and then come back to install and dress the windows.  Our products are made in Indiana at Lafayette Venetian Blind,  we take great pride in supporting local businesses!

Today, I continue to use the same studio which is located in our building for our blind business.  It is not open to the public, but someday I hope to find a place to house the studio where I can be open while I work and participate in studio tours and the like.  Until then, I sell my wares at a few local stores and galleries and set up for local art & craft shows as well as sell online.

Thank you for taking time to stop here!
Cheers!
